The Client
A Retail Manager in search of professional direction turns to business coaching.
The Brief
This client came as a recommendation but was not new to business coaching. He had been unsure about his career for some time and had become disconnected from his purpose and passion. This lack of self fulfilment in the professional realm created dissatisfaction and impacted his personal life. He spent a lot of time and energy on contemplating a change in career or moving to another place in order to ‘shake things up’. Disconnected from his purpose, his discontentment created tension at work and at home.
He had tried working with a business coach before which hadn’t been great so he was unsure if coaching was going to help him get clear and realigned.
With nothing to loose and so much to gain he signed up for ‘The Accelerator Program‘ – a goal oriented, 12-session coaching engagement to help him get clear on what he wants.
The Work
Neuro-coaching is a specialist field and typically only accessible to management in large corporations. It is designed to work with the brain in mind helping people get out of their own way and into optimized thinking modes. The Accelerator Program is based on latest neuroscience and hence, creates break-through results for clients applying a structured, proven coaching methodology.
Starting with creating three primary goals, this client took great care to look at all aspects of his life during the mining process by exploring personal, professional and family needs. The proprietary and powerful AIM model forms the basis for successful goal setting and achievement.
After shining his goals to create a close emotional and meaningful connection the client was motivated to get to work. Each goal was broken down into a strategic framework. Over the course of the coaching sessions the strategies kept us on track. We had also set clear measurables to know when the goal was complete.
The Result
The three primary goals were worked on parallel to each other. Within the first month the client had become very clear on the professional direction he wanted to explore and took initiative at work to take his leadership role to the next level.
He learned through a separate behavioural assessment his natural and adapted working style and the motivators that drive him to want to succeed. The assessment helped him to understand drivers of his team and has enabled him to adapt his communications for greater influence.
He reinvigorated his position within the business and has implemented new initiatives to motivate the team, maximize everyone’s potential and with that increase bottom line results for the business.
On a personal front he finally followed through on a dream he had had for 12 years and started taking up a hobby he always wanted to pursue. This and a new exercise regime fills his soul-o-meter so much that it creates a wonderfully positive effect on the happiness and contentment for his whole family.
He continues to recognize things and perceptions that can get in his way. So with that after a break from coaching during the summer he has come back. He has learned that goals and coaching provide the fuel to help him reach the highest heights, professionally and personally with fast-tracked results. Why would he go back to figuring it out alone when coaching can get him there faster and with more fun?
