Getting help to run your small business is closer than you think. Yet mostly you struggle to find the time to make a cup of tea let alone spend hours researching the support that is out there for you. So here is a first selection of three options to review of possible eligible grant, credit and/ or award you may be eligible for:
Canada-BC Job Grant Program – An employee training grant for up to $10,000 per grant with the employer paying 1/3 towards training cost. This cost-sharing program is intended for skill training of current and future employees.
The BDC Young Entrepreneur Award – If you are between 18 and 35, own at least 20% share in a business and are responsible for the day-to-day running of your business and want to take your business to the next level you may want to enter this @BDC’s award program for the grand prize of $100,000.
Interactive Digital Media Tax Credit – If your business is based in BC and is developing Interactive Digital Media solutions like
- Video games
- Educational software
- Edutainment products
- Simulators (for example, for driving a car)
You’ll want to apply as the tax credit is significant and is calculated as 17.5% of eligible salary and wages incurred in the tax year.
